A new car is an opportunity to start with a good care routine. Before choosing paint protection or booking a polish, find out what has already been applied and inspect the finish you’re starting with.

New paint can have transport contamination, handling marks or swirls from preparation. It can also be in excellent condition. We assess the car itself and prepare it accordingly.

Before handover: ask about cosmetic preparation

If you plan to have Bubbles prepare and protect the car, our preference is to arrange this before collection and ask the dealer to minimise cosmetic handling. Where practical, request no dealer wash, polish or showroom dressing, so we can manage that preparation from the start.

Dealership groomers can do excellent work. The useful question is what process will be used on your vehicle and whether it suits your plans. Required safety checks and delivery inspections should still take place.

If the dealer is applying protection, ask:

  • What is the exact product?
  • What preparation is included?
  • Who applies it, and under what conditions?
  • What maintenance and warranty terms come with it?

Keep that information with the car’s records. It helps you maintain the product correctly and avoids paying for overlapping treatments.

At collection: look at the finish

Inspect the car in good light before signing off on its condition. Look for visible paint marks, residue, stains or damage, and raise concerns with the dealer.

Take photographs of anything you need to discuss. An independent detail can improve presentation, but delivery defects should still be documented through the dealership’s process.

In the first week: choose your protection

A quality sealant or suitable ceramic spray can be a practical DIY starting point. A professional ceramic coating is worth considering if you want longer-term protection and easier regular maintenance.

Our three-year exterior coating service starts from $999, with preparation agreed for your car. We inspect, clean and decontaminate the finish before application. Polishing is used where it serves the paint and the desired result; a new car doesn’t automatically need aggressive correction.

Coating requires a suitable enclosed garage. We can discuss application at your property or drop-off by arrangement.

During the first month: establish the wash routine

Use clean mitts, separate wheel tools, a suitable shampoo and a clean drying towel. Wash on cool panels, rinse loose dirt before contact and keep the pressure light.

If protection has just been applied, follow its curing and first-wash instructions. Remove bird droppings and other concentrated contamination promptly using an appropriate method.

Inside, deal with spills early, vacuum grit and keep high-contact surfaces clean. Match cleaners and protectants to the actual materials, including synthetic seats and delicate screens.

Common questions

Isn’t a new car already protected?

It may be. Ask what has been applied and how to maintain it. A new-car purchase alone doesn’t tell you which protection product is on the paint.

Should I replace dealer-applied protection?

Not automatically. Establish the product, condition and your expectations first. We can assess whether maintenance or different protection is worthwhile.

Will you make new paint completely flawless?

We aim for an excellent finish while preserving the paint. Results depend on its starting condition, any defects and the agreed preparation.

Pick a time. We bring the rest.
